I Love Carrie

I just finished the three to five minute musical for my theatre class. How thrilling and fulfilling to complete a work, no matter how small or for what purpose. Ah, creation.

It is entitled "Tick-Talk" (An Adult Pop-Up Musical). I enjoyed writing it and look forward to the next few weeks of pairing the lyric concept with music and learning and performing it.

I have been listening to Carrie Underwood like a mad fiend these past few days. She is a musical force of nature that one. And she is exquisite. One lyric of the song "The More Boys I Meet" has enchanted me and made me smile.

And I close my eyes
And I kiss that frog
Each time finding
The more boys I meet the more I love my dog

True indeed. I think I am going to try and work it in a medley in my forthcoming cabaret in March.

I am mushy-brained due to two tests this week, four papers to write, a show to see, a film to watch, a performance to do, etc. Time to hunker down.

I love creating.
I love personification.
I love that I am doing better in school.
I love Carrie. :-)

I will close with a lyric from my musical scene that I find applicable and The Man and Alarm Clock come to this place at the end of their story:

How often we don't see past our nose
A world of poetry we see in prose
Together we will write a new verse and rhyme
To usher in a sunny dawn
Together, keeping perfect time

We took you to the fair at least once, possibly more, but the one time I recall is when you and I rode some type of worm thing that wove in and out and up and down so much I nearly fainted. I held on from sheer perseverance and kept whatever it was that I had been eating down because I was afraid something would happen to you. LOL. Now it's a grand memory. There is something magical about the neon lights, rides, and food of the State Fair. Love you, Your Number 1 Fan, Mom

The Leprechaun Loving Lush

Tonight I got snockered with some bombastic leprechauns, dabbled in the cuisine of Acadia, conversed with some drunk oddities, called and text people in quite a state of lowered inhibitions/let's talk about life and giggle, and discussed trivial matters (Is "Sweeney Todd" actually a good film, why do I like "Twilight", etc.) as if life depended on how I articulated my stance in these matters. What an odd, fun, new, out-of-the-comfort zone night for me. Gloriously uncomfortable and disgusting decadent. YAY. Every day I seem to be doing something I have never done before: from the tiny to the grand. It is an experiment and I am loving and loathing it, and all the intoxicating in-betweens. (Yes, not-so-clever pun intended.) I hope that everyone had a wonderful St. Patty's day! (oh my, that is like Sandi Patty, but not at all...) Love, The DABalicious Leprechaun Loving Lush

Much Needed Silence

The past few days I have liked the darkness, the silence of my room. I have not come out much and have watched "Sleepless in Seattle" over and over and over and over. I started wondering why I want to be alone (I am not depressed at all) and started doing the roommate math. I have lived with 41 different people in my life. I have lived in 21 different living environments not including all the different times I moved around with my family as a kid. I have hit a wall where I just want ME time and a lot of it, no talking, no sharing, just alone time. In this much needed silence I find that I am a much simpler person than I once was, that I really love the quiet, and that it is time to live alone soon. I have done the roomie thing more than anyone I know and met some wonderful people, but I am overloaded with that experience. So, back to "Sleepless in Seattle" and my much needed silence. Dustin

I Love the Clarks

I LOVE THE CLARKS!!!!!!!!!!!! (I used twelve exclamation marks/points to show the significance of the love and because twelve is my cosmic number.) It is that simple. Jay and Karen (and the illustrious Quin) allowed me to move into their lovely home under the proviso I would be out in a few days. Well that was October 18th and, look at your calendar folks, I am still here. I think that finally the light has bounced off of a nimbus cloud that I have not seen before and I might have a dwelling. But... I LOVE these two people. They just get me and leave me to my own devices. In this time where I have sequestered myself off into my own little respite lair, they have let me "do my own thing". And they are such lovely, talented, decent people. It has been my honour to get to know them more and their ultimate collaboration, THE Quin. He is the COOLEST child ever. I adore the boy. Tonight Jay, Karen, and I played a card game called Nerts. I am addicted and I saw new shades
