Swirling (The Right Frame of Muse)

It is what I am doing right now...
Swirling.
My energy has been resting the past few days, needing a moment to recuperate from all the new.
But it has reappeared and is ready to eat the day, devour the morsels that are there to taste and quench the spirit.
I cannot begin to describe how gratifying it is to be writing my little novel again. It is speaking to me in little snippets of several chapters and some dialogue. Far from perfect or the finished product, but it is nice to be a conduit for that world. I have missed it and was starting to doubt if I was going to write it again. I am determined to write it and tell that tale, whatever it may become. It keeps taking odd twists and turns, but I would imagine that is to be expected. I feel that it is a living entity and I have to be in the right frame of muse to create and mold the words, expressions, plots, and locales of this epic story.

I am struggling with money and dental bills again. Yuk. But I am back at the church and returning to the Pier on Saturday and I have a Catholic Church job this weekend so I am doing all I can to get straightened away.

This time of year is always difficult for me; I walk in my old skin somedays remembering death, sadness, isolation, and being alone... but it is comforting to see that although that still resides in me, it is not the prevalent voice. There is a new one smiling through the ash, showing his power to all who want to hear...

It is a new song played by one, but with echoes of the many of my heart...

I love life.
I love writing.
I love days like this.

Dustin,
I love your writing, too. I write because lives live through me, pleading with me to give them voices. I can identify with your sentiments here.
I'm so grateful to be on the other side of sorrow. As long as a person remembers another who has left this earthly plane, he or she lives on.
Love You,
Your #1 Fan,
Mom

The Leprechaun Loving Lush

Tonight I got snockered with some bombastic leprechauns, dabbled in the cuisine of Acadia, conversed with some drunk oddities, called and text people in quite a state of lowered inhibitions/let's talk about life and giggle, and discussed trivial matters (Is "Sweeney Todd" actually a good film, why do I like "Twilight", etc.) as if life depended on how I articulated my stance in these matters. What an odd, fun, new, out-of-the-comfort zone night for me. Gloriously uncomfortable and disgusting decadent. YAY. Every day I seem to be doing something I have never done before: from the tiny to the grand. It is an experiment and I am loving and loathing it, and all the intoxicating in-betweens. (Yes, not-so-clever pun intended.) I hope that everyone had a wonderful St. Patty's day! (oh my, that is like Sandi Patty, but not at all...) Love, The DABalicious Leprechaun Loving Lush

Much Needed Silence

The past few days I have liked the darkness, the silence of my room. I have not come out much and have watched "Sleepless in Seattle" over and over and over and over. I started wondering why I want to be alone (I am not depressed at all) and started doing the roommate math. I have lived with 41 different people in my life. I have lived in 21 different living environments not including all the different times I moved around with my family as a kid. I have hit a wall where I just want ME time and a lot of it, no talking, no sharing, just alone time. In this much needed silence I find that I am a much simpler person than I once was, that I really love the quiet, and that it is time to live alone soon. I have done the roomie thing more than anyone I know and met some wonderful people, but I am overloaded with that experience. So, back to "Sleepless in Seattle" and my much needed silence. Dustin

I Love the Clarks

I LOVE THE CLARKS!!!!!!!!!!!! (I used twelve exclamation marks/points to show the significance of the love and because twelve is my cosmic number.) It is that simple. Jay and Karen (and the illustrious Quin) allowed me to move into their lovely home under the proviso I would be out in a few days. Well that was October 18th and, look at your calendar folks, I am still here. I think that finally the light has bounced off of a nimbus cloud that I have not seen before and I might have a dwelling. But... I LOVE these two people. They just get me and leave me to my own devices. In this time where I have sequestered myself off into my own little respite lair, they have let me "do my own thing". And they are such lovely, talented, decent people. It has been my honour to get to know them more and their ultimate collaboration, THE Quin. He is the COOLEST child ever. I adore the boy. Tonight Jay, Karen, and I played a card game called Nerts. I am addicted and I saw new shades
